Slacker

Okay, Okay, I've been slacking - well on the blogging that is. I've been fishing up a storm. While catch numbers haven't been the highest we've seen, we're catching some dandy fish here in Frankfort. This week alone I've had several over 22lbs! There's been lots of traffic on the bank and most recently in front of the pier, but there are fish to be caught. The Lake Trout fishing has been a blast too. After a couple year hiatus, it's been nice to compliment the salmon catches with a few jumbo Lakers.

Weather is fair, fishing is good and there are still a few August dates available, give us a call!

Frankfort Fishing Fires Up

Limit catches... yes, you heard right... LIMIT CATCHES of nice, mature Lake Michigan King Salmon this morning. Fishing has really fired up on the Frankfort bank with all boats reporting near limit catches this morning and a few bringing home the bacon! Charters are rolling in for July and August, but we still have some great dates available. With the new Lake Trout size limit, great King action and weather that makes being on the lake the most comfortable place to be, don't miss out by putting off your Frankfort fishing adventure! :)

Passing the Time

Well, the weather here in Northern Michigan hasn't been overly conducive to fishing over the last week. Rainy, windy... uugghh. However, I did get a report from a fellow charter captain that he was able to sneak out for a few hours earlier in the week and finally landed a king... the first report of a King in Frankfort that I've gotten this season. I'm chomping at the bit! Planning to go Friday evening in preparation for the first charter of the year later the following week. I will keep you posted.

May Fishing Heating up!

Friday, May 6th, Tiny Bubbles and one other boat fished the waters near the Frankfort Pier. We went 5 for 7 with 3 browns and 2 lake trout in the cooler. The biggest brown came in about about 7#'s and the big laker was 13#. Small Streaks still seem to be the ticket running on short cores. The weather is shaping up and a few more days of Southwest wind should improve fishing even more.

Tonight (mother's day) we took out my wife, daughters, mom, dad and nephew for a little inner harbor fun. We went 6 for 8 on Northern Pike in about an hour's time! It was a blast an the ladies all had a great time.

First Trip a Success

Well, we took our maiden fishing voyage last Thursday night and the big lake was good to the Tiny Bubbles. We only had a few hours to fish after work (you know, the ol' 9-5) but we went 4 for 5 on those beautiful browns. The Silver Streak mini streaks were the winner with 3 of our 5 bites. Two on the Blue Dolphin and one one the Green dolphin. We also took one on a rapala. A great time was had by all! A few good days of south west wind sure would help us out in bringing the lakers here.

The Big Splash

The time has come... After spending two grueling weekends washing, waxing and painting, Dave just can't take it anymore and has decided to put the Tiny Bubbles in this Saturday! Which, as the wife having to live with him, I think is a good idea because another week of waiting combined with spending this Saturday night at the GTASFA annual banquet with a hundred other fishermen, I'm sure his anticipation would be unbearable by Sunday.

The weather is finally breaking up here in the north country as well, we are look very forward to getting those lines in the water. Stay tuned!!!

Getting Ready

The weather is finally starting to break and the Brown Trout fishing is getting started here in Frankfort. We've been working to get the big ship ready for the water. We have a tentative launch date of April 23rd and will begin running charters the weekend of the 30th. Will check in this weekend with a more accurate fishing report!
